I'd like to point out that my creation of this topic was an attempt to redirect the negativity from the closed topic into something more constructive. I had been accused by several of having views on chess that I do not hold. There was a lot of misunderstanding in that topic.
My reference to being lambasted by trolls was NOT in regard to Rain, actually. It was in regard to the last string of attacks started by chunkymonkey and Dionysus that led to the topic being closed before I had any hope of attempting to explain that my views on chess are far from the Kramnik-like stoicism that I was wrongly painted to hold. Furthermore, I was truly interested to hear others' views on chess, and thought this might be a nice venue for it.
However, I was apparently wrong. I personally have absolutely nothing against Rain, chunky, or Dionysus. Apparently, though, that feeling is not mutual. What began as a simple misunderstanding between Rain and myself has somehow now escalated into a cross-thread war between multiple users. It's quite sad. I think we all need to just take a step back from this, calm down, and go back to playing or talking about chess, rather than lashing out at others.
