Do I have the right to resign?

As you only accept 'yes' or 'no', the answer can only be 'no'. You do not have an unrestricted right to resign whenever you want.

Sorry, i deleted my post, because it doesn't fit to your message since you wrote "unrestricted" which i overread.

But again, yes you have the right to steal (in several circumstances) - but that is getting way too philosophical.
What is unappropriate in one social bubble may be totally okay in another one or in other times/circumstances.

To answer your question: Yes.

You don't have to read the following since you only want a Yes or No response. I'll share my thoughts on this subject nonetheless.

I do believe it's within one's rights to resign. Objectively speaking, resigning means losing, effectively ending the game.
In light of this, asking if someone has the right to resign is equivalent to asking if it is okay to lose.

Assuming one resigns immediately after their first move, they have decided to lose on the spot.

From an emotional standpoint, resigning after making the first move can be considered unethical because it may irritate others. And it's not recommended to do so without a valid/acceptable reason. An acceptable reason (among others) may be that your opponent had to leave to attend to an urgent matter.

Furthermore, while it's within one's rights to resign, one should definitely not misuse it. Misusing it indicates insanity and is punishable.

Yet another completely ridiculous thread by @Shiroyasha47 , of course you have right to resign ,if you're following good sportsmanship of the game, why you feel the need to fight the system of on line chess is beyond me, hundred of thousands of peaceful games played a day and yet you're the only one who seems to have problems, maybe you should take a look at yourself and ask why when most people are just enjoying playing with no problems xxx
You asked a question, are you going to respond at least to one of the answers? @Shiroyasha47
Just to clarify, are you asking for a simple yes or no answer, like a vote?

The following is not a yes or no answer, but answers your question. If you resign too early, you might get this in your in box.

You have lost a couple games after a few moves. Please note that you MUST try to win every rated game.
Losing rated games on purpose is called "sandbagging" and is not allowed on Lichess.

Thank you for your understanding.
