No big tournaments for me. I have played a lot this year and also next year is already crammed so I really want to reserve this special period of the year for my family. It doesn't mean no chess at all as I will play some online bullet, analyze some openings, test the new releases of Stockfish/ Leela, continue reading
www.qualitychess.co.uk/products/2/395/the_secret_ingredient_by_jan_markos_and_david_navara/ I do a bit of both. I hang out with family when we are doing group activities or they want to do something. I usually play chess when I am alone or have a little bit of free time.
I haven't sacrificed whole christmas for chess :) But only couple times New Year's Eve playing Rilton Cup in Sweden, because as a Finn I don't live far away from Stockholm.
On christmas 24th day I mostly focus spent my time with my mom and only play chess little on internet. Bit of christmas spirit also on 25th day. Also I try to avoid drinking too much alcohol. Some people drink a lot and then there will be arguments in the family or between couples.
I hope noone would be alone on christmas, but life isn't that easy always. Merry christmas :)
I play chess near my family:)
I'm doing both just finding out my brothers both are players and my nephews too so looking forward to playing them all at Christmas
