bug null-move

pgn with null-move such as 1.a3 a6 2.-- a5 are not supported. lichess can not read them. such pgn cant import or created.
usally, u can past a null- move over annotations or by king captures king.

lichess has a huge potential, u took features that never seen before but it misses the final blow. pls contact me when u think I could help in some ways.

thx lichess
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_move

in a pgn file, the glyph in a notation is: --
but its not a praefix or suffix, it replaces usual move for one color who made no move. the rules of chess doesnt allow to pass the move for any color. null-move comes up in study- or analyzes-modus
doyou know other bugswhich might happen when importing pgn-files doesn't work? at least now I have one thing to look for:-)
My question is this: How would lichess display this on the board?

Lichess doesn't allow any notation that it can't display. "--" is not a displayable move because what it means is not clear.

Is it a "skip ply" or "pass" where the player doesn't move? Or is it a placeholder for any move the player could play? "--" isn't obvious as being one or the other.

Either way, neither of those would be very useful for analysis even if they could be displayed.

Another question is, how would this be implemented in lichess's game compression algorithm? (see: lichess.org/blog/Wqa7GiAAAOIpBLoY/developer-update-275-improved-game-compression )
