I waited for 8 minutes for my opponent to move, He ran out of time.. and I lost (-20 points). Seriously?

We chatted, for him my time was running out. It's definitely a problem with the app.

I need my points back. Or I'm going public on YouTube.. this has happened twice now.

Need a response from App developer in 2 days. Thanks.

When was it played? If it was played while the server is restarting, then you would need to reload your tab/app for it to work properly. I also experienced the same thing when i was playing a simul before. I thought the host wasn't moving for 10 minutes but it was actually me who didn't move

This issue has happened to me at least twice. I found that either refreshing the page (computer) or opening and closing app (mobile) solved this issue. The problem is that it's hard to tell if opponent is thinking or if your own time is wasting. Makes me paranoid.

I had the same problem today, May 15, 2020, at around 11 pm (Eastern time). I was up in material by the equivalent of 8 pawns and my next move was to capture the opponent queen. A totally lost game for the opponent but then suddenly it was shown that he was not moving and his time ran out. After that nothing happened, and when I refreshed the page, I found that I lost on time! Very frustrating, especially because this was a totally won game. I would hope some sort of remediation to this. At least cancel the game -it is so annoying to get credited a loss in such a position...

You lost connection to the lichess server so your last move was not transmitted. This happens to all of us once in a while. It is probably related to server overload. It is unfortunate, but it happens.
